Future of the Peninsula Cancer Network (PCN)
All current Cancer Networks in England will cease to exist after 31st March 2013.
We are close to the introduction of Strategic Clinical Networks (SCN) as part of the new NHS structures.
For all current Cancer Networks throughout England there will be a transition from the current system to the new.
It is important that the relationships and clinical engagement that have been developed and maintained over many years are not lost. We appreciate all your efforts to engage with the Peninsula Cancer Network and hope that the same commitment continues in the future.
What is not clear at this stage is how the new SCN structure will work and what their priorities and work streams will be. As this becomes clearer we will keep you informed.
As the SCN develops over the next few months we anticipate that there will be greater clarity on how they wish to maintain clinical engagement.
