Skin Cancer Awareness and Prevention Project
Embedding the strategic commissioning of Skin Cancer Awareness and Prevention
Project Report: Including a practical toolkit for action April 2010
Download the full report.
This report is very large (21MB) and may take some minutes to download.
This comprehensive report has been compiled to provide practical support to organisations wishing to undertake skin cancer awareness and prevention work.
Annex A details a menu of intervention ideas for adoption by a range of stakeholders.
Annex B reports the results of a survey of skin cancer prevention initiatives in all PCTs in England.
A variety of supporting tools are included as appendices (Appendix 1 – 48), including sample policies and suggested service level agreement wording, for use as templates, to stimulate discussion, to reduce duplication and to aid effective uptake.
It is intended that the tools are used in a pick and mix manner depending on local requirements. A personalised toolkit can therefore be created.
The report and each of the tools is available on the South West Public Health Observatory Skin Cancer Hub
It is hoped additional tools will be uploaded by local practitioners over time such that it forms a live resource.
Please contact Jon Miller at the Cancer Network if you have any queries.
