Charities Supporting People and Young Adults affected by Cancer

Tanya’s Courage

Tanya’s Courage was established in 2005 following the cancer diagnosis, treatment and subsequent loss of Tanya and her wish to develop a support network for other young people affected by cancer.

The Charity raises funds to provide help and financial support for young person between age 16-25 and their families within Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly. They have provided communication aids e.g. lap tops and i pads to enable them to keep in touch with friends, family and other social networks whilst in hospital or at home. Information booklets and leaflets for young patients, parents and siblings are also available.

The Charity has recently opened a shop in St Austell to help raise further funds

Paul’s Fund and Paul’s Place

David and Pippa Morton established the Charity Paul’s Fund and Pauls Place following the loss of their son in 2008

The aim of the Fund is to enable young adults who have been bereaved, or diagnosed with a terminal or life threatening illness, or who are themselves caring for a family member, to have some time out  by meeting the accommodation costs of staying at Paul’s Place, a new B&B and place of retreat in Georgeham near Croyde on the North Devon coast.
